former army civilian employee gets slammed with five year sentence

"In San Antonio today,  67-year-old Opal Jewel Charles, of Cibolo, TX, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for stealing money collected for wounded warriors and their families  announced United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr.; Resident Agent in Charge Ray A. Rayos, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (Army CID), San Antonio Fraud Resident Agency; and, Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) Acting Special Agent in Charge Troy Caldron, San Antonio. In addition to the prison term, United States District Judge Xavier Rodriguez ordered that Charles pay $260,000 restitution and be placed on supervised release for a period of three years after completing her prison term.  In May, Charles pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of structuring.  By pleading guilty, Charles admitted that from 2004 to December 2016, she was assigned to attend to the needs of soldiers and their families at the Warrior Transition Battalion at Bro

Cops tried to make rape victim withdraw her allegations

rape victim Anna Chambers  According to the NY Daily News, cops visited rape victim Anna Chambers at Maimonides Hospital and tried to convince her to drop allegations against the cops who allegedly raped her. David, my brother. My brother did confide with me about this case and I told him  point blank that there is no consent when you are under police custody. I noticed that with the feds. They are relentless against correction officers who sexually exploit inmates.  He always fights for justice and I wish him the best. Now these cops were charged in state court but if justice is not met, then the feds can always take over. I met cops in federal prison . former general counsel gets 6 months prison sentence

The former general counsel of a company that operates health maintenance organizations in several states was sentenced to six months in prison today for his role in a $35 million health care fraud scheme. Acting Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Blanco of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, Acting U.S. Attorney W. Steven Muldrow of the Middle District of Florida, Special Agent in Charge Shimon Richmond of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General’s (HHS-OIG) Miami Field Office, Special Agent in Charge Eric W. Sporre of the FBI’s Tampa Field Office and the Florida Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit made the announcement. Thaddeus M.S. Bereday, 52, of Tampa, Florida, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James S. Moody of the Middle District of Florida, who also ordered Bereday to serve three years of supervised release that includes one year of home confinement following his prison term and to pay a fine in the amount of $50

Melendez, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office of the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI”), announced today the unsealing of a Complaint charging CHI PING PATRICK HO, a/k/a “Patrick C.P. Ho,” and CHEIKH GADIO with participating in a multi-year, multimillion-dollar scheme to bribe high-level officials in Chad and Uganda in exchange for business advantages for a Chinese oil and gas company (the “Energy Company”).  HO and GADIO were charged with violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
